Extension of the Grenchen hard-surface runway to 980 m. Installation of a DVOR (Doppler VHF rotating beacon) navigation system with higher precision. Construction of a refueling station with two refueling stations.

Grenchen airfield: On the initiative of Adolf Schild, the founding meeting of the AeroClub Grenchen takes place on January 31, 1931. Construction of a hangar with an arched roof and a 210 × 120 m grass runway. April 12, landing of the DeHavilland Moth CH220. May 10, inauguration of the aircraft and the runway. July 26, air show with 10,000 spectators.
